Apple website hints Siri AI may come to full size HomePods
Apple updated product images on its website this week. The new graphics show a multi-colored Siri glow. A tech leaker spotted the change in the alt text. Existing full-size HomePod owners might get the new assistant soon.
Check your speaker setup this week if you use Apple devices around your office or shop. A leak on Apple's official website suggests that advanced Siri AI features may finally be coming to full-size HomePods. Technology writer Ben Lovejoy noted that product pages were updated with fresh graphics. A leaker spotted two major clues hiding in plain sight on the tech giant's web store. First, the animated color glow on the product images matched the style used for the upcoming HomePod mini 2. Second, the hidden alt text for one image explicitly described the graphic as showing the multi-colored Siri AI glow on top. Apple relies on an upgraded S10 chip inside newer hardware to handle the heavy processing for the new assistant. Full Siri AI support also requires pairing the speaker with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad to tap into a user's personal context. Apple usually holds back software features on older hardware to encourage customers to buy new gear. At the same time, the company is making a massive push on artificial intelligence services to boost revenue. Apple has already replaced the disputed images on its site, leaving it unclear if the update was a simple website error or a premature announcement. For now, you will have to wait and see if your current office speaker gets the upgrade or if you need to plan for new hardware purchases next time you budget for store electronics.
