The courier company is running the tests in the north of England using machines from Refined Robotics, a developer based in Japan. Evri claims this is the first test of its kind in Europe. The robot walks at up to 3.7 miles per hour while learning to climb stairs, handle uneven ground, and step out of vans. "We picked the two-legged form factor because often we've seen quadrupedal robots, four-legged robots get stuck in tighter alleyways or tight corners." Even robots have to learn how to climb the front steps.
