JetBlue just put its new BlueFirst domestic class on sale for over 30 routes. The first flight takes off on Dec. 8 between Boston and Fort Lauderdale. Introductory fares start at $249 for select flights. Seats offer up to 7 more inches of legroom.
JetBlue just launched its new domestic first-class product, called BlueFirst, with tickets now on sale across more than 30 routes according to CNBC. The first flight with the new seats will take off on Dec. 8 between Boston and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, followed quickly by routes from New York's LaGuardia Airport. JetBlue is New York's hometown airline, flying millions of passengers up and down the East Coast and across the country every year. The new cabin comes as the carrier works to return to steady profitability by growing its higher-priced offerings. The tickets are now available for booking on flights that do not currently feature the airline's lie-flat Mint business class. Introductory fares start at $249 for a flight from New York to Fort Lauderdale, and $299 for flights from Boston to Fort Lauderdale and New York to Liberia, Costa Rica. Passengers in the new section get seats that recline up to 5 inches, with up to 7 inches more legroom than standard Main seats. Perks include Bluetooth-connected seatback screens, upgraded food and drink options, Group 1 boarding, and expedited security lanes. "We designed BlueFirst to deliver a more accessible first-class experience that combines the thoughtful hospitality and service customers expect from JetBlue with exceptional value and comfort," said JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty in a news release.
