Chase Travel is offering its highest ever Ultimate Rewards PointsBoost redemption value of 2.5x points on a curated selection of properties. Eleven properties now feature the 2.5 cents-per-point redemption rate, according to Doctor Of Credit. The list includes the Fairmont Empress, Half Moon in Jamaica, InterContinental Malta, and Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris. PointsBoost typically gives a value of up to 2 cents per point for travel redemptions, and often less. But a reader named Nextcard noticed that at the same time Chase released this 2.5x promotion, they also lowered the majority of 2-cent hotels down to 1.65 cents per point. Much of the airline 2-cent redemption for carriers like United and American Airlines was removed at the same time as the 2.5 release. That means your existing points might buy you less room night for your standard bookings while a few luxury spots cost more points to reach. For anyone holding a heavy balance of credit card points, the math on your next vacation just shifted overnight. Watch your redemption values closely before you book your next flight or hotel stay.
