Citrin Cooperman buys AI consulting firm Rosetree
Citrin Cooperman is a top 25 accounting firm. Rosetree Solutions is an AI consulting firm. The deal adds 60 employees to Citrin Cooperman. It helps middle-market clients use AI.
A big accounting firm, Citrin Cooperman, just bought Rosetree Solutions, an AI consulting firm, for an undisclosed price. This deal is a big win for Citrin Cooperman's middle-market clients, who now get access to AI implementation that was mostly only available to large enterprises. Rosetree Solutions is a partner of Anthropic and OpenAI, and it specializes in designing and deploying AI systems inside client businesses. The firm's CEO, Alan Badey, says the goal is to deliver more value to clients using AI. For example, a small regional food distributor can now get the same AI benefits as a large national one. Citrin Cooperman already has AI engineering capabilities on the Microsoft platform, but Rosetree expands those capabilities with a senior-led team and deep expertise across Salesforce, Anthropic, and OpenAI. This means clients get access to a broader range of AI engineering services across multiple platforms. Citrin Cooperman is based in New York and has 38 offices. The firm reported $985 million in revenue and has over 3,600 employees. This deal is just the latest in a string of acquisitions for Citrin Cooperman, including accounting and business advisory firm LGA in Boston. As David Rosenbaum, co-founder of Rosetree, says, the companies that benefit most from AI will be the ones that rethink their workflows and bring their people along. This deal is a big step in that direction, and it's likely to bring big benefits to Citrin Cooperman's clients. And who knows, maybe one day AI will be able to do our taxes for us - but until then, it's still up to the accountants.
