A $2,000 upgrade is sending Toyota's Grand Highlander into the woods with a new Woodland Edition. Toyota, Michigan's top car maker, is adding this outdoorsy version to its three-row SUV lineup for 2027. The updated models will arrive at dealerships later this year, with starting prices of $42,560 for the gasoline LE and $45,910 for the hybrid LE, excluding delivery and handling. The Grand Highlander continues to be assembled in Princeton, Indiana. The hybrid-powered Woodland Edition combines standard all-wheel drive with all-terrain tires, slightly increased ground clearance and black exterior accents. Family-friendly extras include all-weather floor mats, a removable second-row cooler and a cargo organizer. Buyers will continue to have three powertrain choices: a turbocharged gasoline engine, a conventional hybrid and the more powerful Hybrid MAX. Their outputs range from 245 horsepower for the hybrid to 362 horsepower for Hybrid MAX, with the gasoline model in between. The Grand Highlander retains its substantial proportions, broad grille and clean body lines. Passenger space remains a major selling point, with the Grand Highlander seating seven or eight, depending on configuration. The rear seats fold flat to expand cargo space, making the cabin adaptable for grocery runs, vacations or hauling bulky items. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 remains standard, bringing collision-warning and automatic-braking assistance, adaptive cruise control, lane assistance, road-sign recognition and automatic high beams. This means a safer and more convenient ride for families and business owners in Lakewood and Brooklyn.
