Twenty-five small businesses in Woodbridge just received five thousand dollar cash grants to help support their growth and long-term success. According to the Woodbridge Patch, the money was handed out on October 15 during a presentation ceremony at the APA Hotel in Iselin.
Mayor John McCormac attended the event alongside leaders from the business groups. Optimum Business, a provider of fiber internet, mobile and television services, teamed up with the Woodbridge Metro Chamber of Commerce to back the local shops. Each chosen business walked away with five thousand dollars in hand with no strings attached about paying it back.
For a local storefront facing rising costs, that kind of cash drop gives you breathing room for inventory or payroll without taking on new debt. It is a nice payday for local owners who keep their lights on in town.
