Florida taxpayers get relief after Hurricane Isaias.

The short version
- You now have until February 8, 2027 to file returns and pay.
- Twenty-seven counties qualify automatically for the extension.
- Others can call the IRS Special Services line.
- Check if your business is in a covered area.
Florida residents and business owners are getting a major extension on their federal taxes after Hurricane Isaias. The Internal Revenue Service announced that taxpayers now have until February 8, 2027, to file various federal individual and business tax returns and make tax payments.
FEMA issued a disaster declaration covering 27 counties in the state. People who live or own businesses in Baker, Bay, Calhoun, Citrus, Columbia, Dixie, Escambia, Franklin, Gadsden, Gilchrist, Gulf, Hamilton, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leon, Levy, Liberty, Madison, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Suwannee, Taylor, Wakulla, Walton, and Washington counties automatically qualify for this tax relief.
Affected taxpayers who are located outside of those specific disaster areas are directed to call the IRS Special Services toll-free number at 866-562-5227 to request the same tax relief. For any local business owner juggling storm repairs and paperwork, this gives you breathing room before the tax office comes knocking.
