Manthey Racing is celebrating three decades of speed by building exactly 30 cars to mark their 30th birthday. The company, which is now 67 percent owned by Porsche, has spent years pushing Porsche models to track records at the Nürburgring. They are releasing two limited-production race cars, the 911 GT3 Cup MR 30 and the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport MR 30. Each model is limited to just 15 units worldwide. The 911 GT3 Cup MR 30 gets a massive engine upgrade to 4.2 liters, pushing out 560 horsepower. It features a 180-centimeter wide rear wing and a new central-radiator layout to keep things cool during intense racing. In the United States, Porsche Motorsport North America will sell this machine for $580,000. The 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport MR 30 focuses on shedding weight, trimming 12.5 pounds off the standard model using carbon-fiber fenders and a lightweight hood. It retains the 493-horsepower flat-six engine and carries a price tag of $390,000. Both cars are finished in a special white-and-red livery inspired by their famous Nürburgring 24 Hours race car. These are not your average daily drivers, but they represent the absolute peak of what a track-ready Porsche can do. If you have the garage space and the budget, you might want to call your dealer before all 30 are spoken for. It is a very expensive way to celebrate a birthday, but at least the cake is made of carbon fiber.
