Updated 2027 Honda Passport TrailSport arrives at dealerships after rally debut
The refreshed 2027 Honda Passport TrailSport has arrived at CarPro dealerships. It features a reengineered suspension with 9.65 inches of ground clearance. A racing team is putting the new SUV through the Rebelle Rally.
If you are thinking about upgrading your work vehicle or family ride this year, pay attention to what just hit the lots. American Honda Motor Company, the massive Japanese automotive giant, has started delivering its fully refreshed 2027 Honda Passport lineup to CarPro dealerships across the country. The star of the drop is the 2027 Honda Passport TrailSport, which is currently making its brutal competition debut at the 2026 Rebelle Rally running from October 8th through October 17th. Honda says this is the most off-road-capable SUV the company has ever built, and they are proving it by letting a team of factory associates from the Honda of America Racing Team torture-test it in the dirt. To get this rugged capability, engineers completely reengineered the suspension. The new model gives you 9.65 inches of ground clearance, which is an extra 1.38 inches higher than the 2026 version. Nearly 70% of the major suspension parts were thrown out and redesigned, including the springs, dampers, control arms, stabilizer bars, and knuckles. Under the hood, every single Passport comes standard with a muscular 3.5-liter V6 engine paired with torque-vectoring i-VTM4 all-wheel drive to keep you moving through snow, mud, or jobsite gravel. If you want to stand out in the parking lot, a fresh color called Smoke Blue Pearl is replacing Obsidian Blue Pearl on the order sheet. The vehicle is designed at the Honda design studio in Southern California, developed at the Honda Automotive Development Center in Ohio, and built at the Honda Alabama Auto Plant in Lincoln, Alabama. Honda reports that the fourth-generation Passport is driving record sales since it first rolled out in early 2025. Here is what this means for you: whether you are navigating potholes on the BQE or hauling gear to a job site in Lakewood, this suspension upgrade means a smoother ride over rough pavement and better clearance when you have to jump a curb. At least you will not have to worry about bottoming out when you finally take that family road trip.
