Gencom just bought the InterContinental Miami for $300 million.

The short version
- The 34-story waterfront hotel has 652 rooms.
- The new owners plan to rework the lobby.
- They will also update food and beverage options.
Gencom, a Miami-based real estate investment firm, teamed up with White Bridge Capital to buy the iconic InterContinental Miami, a 652-room waterfront hotel, for $300 million, according to Bloomberg. The 34-story hotel sits at 100 Chopin Plaza in the heart of Miami's business and cultural center.
Strategic Hotels and Resorts, a hotel ownership company, was the seller of the property. The new owners plan to rework the lobby of the 1980s-era hotel and update food and beverage options. The building features 35 meeting rooms and more than 90,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.
Other facilities include a rooftop pool, cabanas, a spa, a fitness center, a business center, and retail outlets. Dining options include a Pan-Latin steakhouse and Bluewater, a rooftop restaurant and bar. The deal marks Gencom's second InterContinental acquisition, following its purchase of the brand's New York Times Square hotel in late 2025.
It also expands a Miami portfolio that already includes The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne and The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove. For local real estate investors, big money is still chasing trophy properties in warm-weather business hubs.
