Jewish billionaire Mark Zuckerberg just launched a massive $95 billion stock sale

Meta is raising up to $95 billion in a massive stock sale.

The short version

  • The tech giant launched $35 billion in equity offerings on Monday.
  • Another $60 billion offering is planned for early 2027.
  • Nvidia and others expressed interest in buying parts of it.

Jewish billionaire Mark Zuckerberg is raising up to $95 billion to fund a massive artificial intelligence build-out at Meta, which owns Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram. Meta launched about $35 billion in equity offerings on Monday, according to Business Insider. The filing includes around $22.5 billion of Class A common stock and $12.5 billion in depositary shares representing preferred stock.

The tech giant also plans a $60 billion at-the-market offering once its Class C shares begin trading in the first quarter of 2027. Nvidia, AMD, and Broadcom have each expressed an interest in buying up to $5 billion of the common stock being offered.

Those indications are not binding, meaning those chipmakers might end up buying more or less. Meta is spending heavily on infrastructure as it develops consumer products and pursues Zuckerberg's goal of bringing personal superintelligence to billions of people. AI is creating significant opportunities across the company's core business and new services.

Meta stock was trading about 2% higher at $654 as of 8:04 a.m. ET following the news. For anyone watching the tech markets, that is a mountain of cash moving into computer chips and server farms in a single morning. When the man behind WhatsApp starts selling billions in stock for computers, the servers are going to be humming.
