Watsco just bought plumbing and HVAC distributor The Granite Group for $500 million

The short version
- The New Hampshire plumbing supplier brings 82 locations across seven Northeast states.
- The deal adds $500 million in yearly sales to the Miami buyer.
Watsco, the largest heating and air-conditioning distributor in North America, just wrapped up a major deal in the Northeast. The Miami company announced that it completed its acquisition of The Granite Group, a family-led supplier of plumbing and heating products based in Concord, New Hampshire, according to Yahoo Finance.
Founded in 1971, the target company brings $500 million in yearly sales across seven states. Albert H. Nahmad, Watsco's Chairman and CEO, said the acquired team shares an entrepreneurial spirit and an ownership culture. The acquired supplier serves approximately 11,000 customers from 82 locations and offers roughly 29,000 products.
The business will keep operating independently under the leadership of Bill Condron, the CEO of The Granite Group. This purchase marks the second large acquisition completed by Watsco during 2026, following its purchase of Jackson Supply Company in June. Watsco has now acquired 74 businesses in the HVAC and plumbing markets since 1989.
More than 70,000 contractors and technicians currently engage digitally with the buyer's technology platforms. For local plumbing and HVAC contractors, the massive distribution network means faster access to parts and equipment across New England and New York. Big distributors keep swallowing the regional players one branch at a time.
