Florida launches $10M zero-interest emergency bridge loans for small businesses
Florida activated a ten million dollar emergency loan fund with zero interest.

The short version
- Eligible businesses can receive up to one hundred thousand dollars.
- Borrowers must repay every dollar within a strict twelve-month period.
- Applications close on November twenty-fifth, 2026.
Small business owners in Florida facing disaster recovery can now tap into new state funding. The Florida Department of Commerce, which manages state economic development, activated a ten million dollar emergency loan fund with zero interest. The program awards up to one hundred thousand dollars per eligible business, and up to one hundred fifty thousand dollars for agricultural and aquacultural sectors, according to LatiNation.
This financing does not constitute a grant, requiring borrowers to repay every dollar within a strict twelve-month period. To access these resources, applicants must hold a minimum credit score of six hundred points, prove at least fifty-one percent ownership, and maintain a workforce between one and one hundred employees.
State officials will process applications through the November twenty-fifth, 2026 deadline or until all available funds are exhausted. Borrowers can use long-term disaster loans obtained later from the U.S. Small Business Administration, the federal agency backing small business loans, to repay the bridge loan.

Check your cash flow projections thoroughly before applying to ensure your business can handle the rapid twelve-month repayment schedule without risking default penalties.
