Israeli software giant Nice is laying off 500 workers worldwide

Nice is cutting 5 percent of its global workforce today.

The short version

  • The software company is shifting operations toward artificial intelligence tools.
  • Five hundred employees will lose their jobs in the transition.
  • The move follows heavy investor pressure over new market shifts.

Why it matters to you. For business owners watching software costs shift, big tech pivots are hitting the workforce hard.

Nice, one of Israel's biggest and longest-established software companies, is laying off 500 employees worldwide, representing about 5 percent of its workforce. Headquartered in Ra'anana, the enterprise software maker develops customer service systems, contact center management platforms, and financial fraud prevention tools.

Led by CEO Scott Russell, the company employed 9,626 people worldwide at the end of 2025. These sudden cuts come as the firm navigates major market shifts. Advancements in artificial intelligence, specifically autonomous agents capable of performing customer service tasks independently, have raised questions about traditional contact center software.

Meanwhile, Nice’s stock has faced significant pressure over the past year due to investor concerns about future growth in an AI-driven market. At the same time, the company is pouring money into new AI-based products to keep up with the changes. According to Globes, the company said the restructuring is necessary to position the business for enterprise-scale artificial intelligence deployment.

"These are difficult decisions involving valued colleagues and our immediate priority is to communicate directly with those affected and support them through the transition," the company stated.
