Jewish billionaire Mark Zuckerberg says 10 million use Meta Muse AI agent

Over 10 million people used Meta Muse in six weeks.

The short version

  • Demand forced Meta to work with Stripe to raise credit limits.
  • One quarter of adopters use the shopping agent daily.
  • Average purchase size tops $200 per transaction.

Jewish billionaire Mark Zuckerberg just revealed that over 10 million users in the US and Canada have set up Meta's new Muse personal AI agent since its September launch. According to Fortune, demand for the fluffy, rosy-cheeked mascot was so intense in the first week that Meta had to work with Stripe, the online payment processing company, to raise credit limits because transaction volumes blew past expectations.

Muse handles multistep tasks like browsing the web, sending emails, and booking travel, with shopping emerging as the most popular use case. One quarter of adopters use it daily, and the average purchase size sits at over $200. Meta, which owns Facebook and WhatsApp, plans to charge businesses a fee when Muse helps complete a sale, creating a new revenue stream alongside its $63.1 billion third quarter ad business.

Meta CFO Susan Li said the company is working with partners including Shopify, the e-commerce software platform, and Walmart, the warehouse store chain, to develop a standard called the Personal Agent Protocol. But running Muse is expensive, with Meta pouring nearly $35 billion into capital expenditures in the third quarter for AI servers and data centers.

Zuckerberg said the high computing demands are why the launch is currently limited to North America as the company works to improve cost efficiency over the next year.
