Walmart launches new $120 joint annual membership with Sam's Club

Walmart just launched a $120 joint annual membership with Sam's Club.

The short version

  • The new deal combines Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus for everyday shoppers.
  • The price saves nearly $100 compared to buying separate plans.
  • Customers get free delivery, gas discounts, and streaming perks.

Why it matters to you. For your business or household budget, linking existing accounts could trim subscription costs if you already use both services.

Walmart, the retail giant, just launched a new joint membership combining its namesake stores and Sam's Club, the warehouse store chain, for $120 a year according to CNBC. The new package merges Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus into a single annual price.

That price is nearly $100 less than buying individual annual memberships to each retailer separately, though there is no monthly payment option available for the new deal. Walmart CEO John Furner said the move is meant to put more money in shoppers' pockets and save them time.

The membership gives customers access to Sam's Club warehouses, free delivery from both chains, a subscription to Peacock or Paramount+, streaming services, gas savings, and 2% Sam's Club cash on eligible purchases. Customers who already have accounts at both stores can simply link their accounts to receive the discount.

While Walmart customers often shop for routine essentials, Sam's Club warehouses offer bulk purchases, allowing the two store models to complement one another as consumer wallets face pressure from high gas and food prices. Meanwhile, Sam's Club recently saw a 26% increase in e-commerce sales, driven by increased transactions and membership growth.

It is a handy way to cut down on errand runs when you are stocking up for the family.
