Xiaomi 18 Ultra cancellation rumors point to $1,500 price tag in China

Xiaomi planned a $1,500 starting price.

The short version

  • That is a 43 percent price jump.
  • Storage also dropped to 256 gigabytes.
  • Xiaomi has issued no official comment.
  • The cancellation remains unconfirmed.

Is the Xiaomi 18 Ultra cancelled? That is the claim circulating this week after a leak posted on Weibo and reported by Tech Advisor, a technology news site. Xiaomi, the massive Chinese electronics maker, has issued no public comment on the device or its rumored cancellation.

The rumor rests on a single online post that is now gone, leaving tech writers working from secondhand summaries. The price figure driving the story is a planned start of about 10,000 Chinese yuan, roughly $1,500 converted, for a base 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, according to PhoneWorld.

That is a steep 43 percent jump over the previous Xiaomi 17 Ultra model, which started at 7,000 yuan with double the storage at 512GB. The leak also pointed to an advanced camera system with three 200-megapixel sensors, plus a flat display with tiny 1mm bezels.

But none of these specs are confirmed, and the price figures reflect China-market pricing specifically. PhoneWorld reports that Xiaomi has announced an 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max for global release, but no Ultra model appears alongside them. Until Xiaomi makes an official announcement, treat every price and spec as an unverified rumor.
