Amneal Pharmaceuticals plans a massive $240 million expansion in New Jersey.

The short version
- The state just approved $60 million in manufacturing tax credits.
- The project will create over 330 new full-time jobs.
- Eight buildings in Piscataway will become a single manufacturing campus.
Amneal Pharmaceuticals, a global biopharmaceutical company, is betting big on its home state with a massive new manufacturing expansion. The New Jersey Economic Development Authority, the state agency that drives business growth, just approved approximately $60 million in tax credits under the Next New Jersey Manufacturing Program to support the project.
Amneal plans to invest more than $240 million in eligible capital over three years. The expansion centers on Piscataway, where eight buildings will be renovated to operate as a single, integrated manufacturing campus supporting production, quality control, and logistics. Founded in Paterson in 2002 by brothers Chirag Patel and Chintu Patel, the company has grown into a leading global maker of generic and specialty medicines while keeping its deep roots in the state.
The project is expected to create more than 330 new full-time jobs, boosting domestic manufacturing capacity for complex treatments like transdermal patches, biosimilars, and injectables. "New Jersey is where Amneal began, and it remains central to our growth and our commitment to patients," said Amneal Co-CEOs Chirag Patel and Chintu Patel.

The state agency's chief executive officer, Evan Weiss, noted that the decision reinforces New Jersey's longstanding leadership in the pharmaceutical industry. For local businesses, the massive capital injection signals continued strength in the state's industrial and pharmaceutical supply chain.
